读者 LC Man 寄电邮问：平常我们说 Chinese people，如 This is made for the Chinese people。为什么谈到中国市场时，有人会说 the China market 呢？The Chinese market和 the China market哪一个正确？
我询问过一些从事中国贸易的人以及在学院里研读商业管理的同事，一致认为the China market 和 the Chinese market都对，但因为着眼点通常是在中国这个地区而不是数目庞大的中国消费者，所以一般说法是 the China market。
应用到其他的国家，我们同样可以说 the Japan market 或 the Japanese market， the US market 或 the American market。
至于 "This is made for the Chinese people" 一句，一提到人，就自然是 Chinese 而不是 China。Chinese 既是名词，又是形容词。
